  • CommentaryThe model seems the epitome of a modern apartment block with integrated garage, incorporated infrastructure and embedded in the landscape. The reinforced white plaster models harbor a highly efficient dwelling system with living, sleeping and hygienic units. In his models, Lieshout always keeps feasibility in mind. In his solo exhibition at the Museum Folkwang in 2008, he presented such a call center unit for 72 people in a 1:1 scale. To house the ›participants‹ he used simple and robust materials such as wood and polyethylene foam, whose forms were due to numerous aesthetic and design choices.
